The McMichael JROTC Marksmanship competed at the Air Force Junior ROTC National competition and finished 3rd overall Nationally out of 84 total teams. Congratulations to the team for this outstanding accomplishment. They are Garyn Kennon, Parker Long, Dalton Piotrowski, and Kelsey Steele.

CONGRATULATIONS to McMichael senior, Kennedy Wilson who won Distinguished Young Women of Rockingham County in February 2022 and will compete for the Distinguished Young Women of North Carolina.

High School seniors from across North Carolina will compete in 5 categories; scholastic, self-expression, interview, talent, and fitness. Over $25,000 in cash scholarships will be awarded in addition to millions in college-granted scholarships. The winner will be named Distinguished Young Women of North Carolina 2023 and will go on to represent NC in the Distinguished Young Women of America Scholarship Program in Mobile, Alabama, in June.Let's celebrate Kennedy in advance as she will represent Rockingham County well!
McMichael’s Vex Robotics Team “The Polar Bears” competed in their first competition Saturday, Jan.14th at Jay M Robinson High School. The team won 5 out of 6 of their qualifier matches. They were ranked 9th out of 36 teams. McMichael was able to make it into the first round of the top 16 before being eliminated. The Polar Bears learned a lot from this competition and can’t wait to improve for the next one!
